LEGO Terminator Costume

My son picked the LEGO Terminator for the costume of 2017. While I think he originally wanted just the unskinned Terminator model, I didn’t think that would translate well as a LEGO costume. I decided to go for a LEGO version of the T-1000 Terminator near the end of Terminator 2. This gave me the opportunity to make a chain gun and do a damaged terminator with part of the robot skeleton showing.
Because I did Halloween shows for many years, my favorite part of this costume is the transition between the metal robot skeleton and the outer skin covering the skeleton. The metal section was cut out and then glued back on slightly offset from the skin. This gives the illusion of a layer of skin. The red and brown colors on the edges gives the look of exposed flesh like you would see on a ghoulish creature at a Halloween show.

This costume made it’s debut at VA Comicon in Richmond in February of 2017.
