Ben Grimm/The Thing

After seeing the first trailer for Fantastic Four: First Steps, I knew I wanted to do the Thing as a statue. This was originally going to be ready for Hampton Comicon in February of 2025 but due to a week long illness and a snow storm just before the show, I was unable to finish in time. I originally had a greenish blue color for the costume that bugged me for months until I finally decided to repaint the blue color.


The basic head shape was completed in just a few hours but the rocky texture took several days of gluing individual scrap pieces of foam to the head and hands. The logo on the chest was 3D printed.
